Novosim provides technology based engineering support services to help its’ customers meet their strategic targets. Concantrating on various specialized areas of engineering, it supports customers to improve their products, introduce new products and increase their efficiency. 

As shown in the figure above, with the solutions provided by Novosim, many different areas can be improved. The main reason for that is all these areas are linked each other with similar engineering fundamentals. For example, an existing air conditioner design or improvement in a car using CFD analysis is very similar to the process conducted in an energy efficiency and HVAC sizing study for buildings.

Energy applications include energy efficiency applications and wind turbine certification process. First of the two is designed for industrial companies to reduce their energy costs by making more use of daylight and optimizing their current HVAC systems mainly. Besides engineering discipline, this area requires architectural experience. Therefore we cooperate with architectural companies to work on this area. Second is the certification process for wind turbines. With the increasing interest in alternative energy applications, many small to mid sized companies are planning to get involved with manufacturing components such as wings, gear systems or small size wind turbines. Most of the certification process depend on computer aided simulation in which transdiciplinary work is a requirement. Novosim holds engineers with simulation experience in those areas that works as a team to complete the process. The main idea is to develop individual components or turbine itself by the use of guidelines and during the certification process no extra time or budget would be necessary. For example as a very basic application TUV Nord accepts the models prepared by third parties.

Technology improvement refers to the know-how gained by the customer during the product development process. Depending on the requirement of the customer the know how transfer can be provided. Know how transfer includes the process itself or the simulation methodology and the engineering approach. In each project there is an opportunity for the customer to improve internal company know-how.

Process improvement is another important step of the solution process. This may be direct or indirect depending on the project. Direct process improvement refers to automation and control applications in manufacturing and other processes which is one of our services. It is very popular nowadays especially preffered by the manufacturing industry for updating the existing machines with PLC type controls and automation of their process. Indirect improvement refers to getting rid of processes that does not add value during a product development project. When we start working with customers, depending on their wishes we may or may not involve in the current process. If involved, there may be opportunities for reviewing and improving the process.

Finally, new product and existing product development are the two areas where very different kinds of engineering knowledge could be utilized. This service is designed for mid to smaller sized companies which are eager to engineer their products in a timely manner by not building an engineering department internally and also for major companies for specific needs that would require specialized know how.
